CONCERT HALL
Nimbus Studio is the concert hall and recording studio of Lyrita Nimbus Arts. The design and construction of the building was modelled on some of the finest concert venues in Europe and has resulted in an auditorium with a superb acoustic. The hall is fully airconditioned, extremely private and secluded yet served by excellent access roads, it is an ideal venue for recordings and live broadcasts.
ACCESS
There is very easy, ground floor access to the auditorium and control room with oversize double doors and plenty of parking immediately adjacent to the hall. We maintain two excellent Steinway Model D concert Pianos which are regularly serviced. Since its official opening in 1992 by His Royal Highness Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales, Wyastone has also been the recording home of Nimbus Records and most independent and major record labels who have used the studio to create many award-winning audio and visual recordings.
The Hall is located 3 miles north of Monmouth, 8 miles south of Ross-on-Wye in the Wye Valley, and access is directly off the A449/A40. We are just 140 miles from London Heathrow on the M4, 75 miles from Birmingham Airport on the M42/M5/M50. The position of the Hall on the Nimbus estate provides total privacy and complete isolation from transport related noise.
CONTROL ROOM
This large, comfortable, air-conditioned room is fully sound-proofed and a picture window looks out onto the auditorium and stage. An array of patch panels link the control room to the auditorium along with a 24-Channel Strand Lighting Board, with patch panel link to the lighting grid in the adjacent machine room.
LIGHTING
The hall has independently controllable LED strip lighting at ceiling level, which is designed for general use, and recording sessions. In addition there are three lighting bars over the stage, which are equipped with standard lighting sufficient for general use. The entire lighting gantry has a power winch and lowers quickly to the stage floor.
GREEN ROOMS
There are three separate artist rooms with seating and dressing mirrors. Access from this area is to the auditorium and to either side of the stage. The area is self-contained with male and female toilets and a small kitchen for hot and cold drinks. Security and general access by the public during concerts can be tightly controlled.
